Don't Call Me Christian

A Truly Jewish Story

Additional Information

In 1971, at the time Paul Liberman first began to explore the subject of the New Testament and the Jewish Messiah, it was difficult. Today, there are many opportunities to directly engage with other Jewish people, even Rabbis, who have made this same spiritual journey. There are Jewish believers living in every country in the world in which Jews reside. Messianic Jewish congregations are in many of the world’s largest cities, as well as many out of the way locations. The internet makes it possible to research these matters in the privacy of your own home, apartment, or dorm room with the aid of your computer.

For your convenience, we have included here a list of some websites that will assist you in your investigation and will help you to connect with someone personally or by email. This list is by no means comprehensive, but it will assist you in your search effort. The list is in no particular order. No one should ever be apprehensive while making a sincere search for the Truth. Only a lie fears the Truth.

The New Testament
When a Jewish person like Paul Liberman, begins to think “outside the box” with regard to the subject of the Jewish Messiah, he or she must read the New Testament. For many, like Paul, there is apprehension mixed with the knowledge that the investigation is personal. Cultural and historic strictures cannot prevent honest research.

When Paul sought out his first copy of the New Testament, he visited the Library of Congress on his lunch break. At that time, there were only a handful of translations apart from the King James Version.

Today, a number of very good options are readily available—accurate translations into modern English, all of which also include the Holy Scriptures, the Tenach. Here are a couple of recommendations.
